15/09/2023

Following the issuance of an operating permit, an official ceremony was held in honor of completing the rehabilitation works on the Momina Klisura hydro power plant in Bulgaria.

As a reminder, this was a project that KONČAR – Engineering contracted in a consortium with ČKD Blansko and RUDIS Trbovlje in an international tender financed by the EBRD and NEK EAD. The project encompassed the rehabilitation of three power plants, which together form the largest basin in Bulgaria in terms of power generation, and which consist of nine generation units with a total installed capacity of 739 MW, two of which are pump generation units.
HPP Momina Klisura has two generation units with Francis turbines, and the scope of the rehabilitation works included the replacement of the turbine control, excitation and governing system, as well as works on the turbine rehabilitation. The first generation unit was successfully commissioned in October 2020, and the second one was commissioned in September 2022.
